D.U. Records (formerly Dormant Utopia Records, though the acronym is said to be meaningless)[1] is an independent record label which has operated out of Denver, Colorado since it was founded in 1988. D.U. Records has issued the majority of releases by Longmont Potion Castle (as well as related projects, such as Implement of Prognosis).
The label's early releases were mostly on cassette, however it has also issued a small number of albums on vinyl since 1989. D.U. moved to releasing albums on CD-R in the early 2000s, and now predominantly distributes its catalog digitally online through its website (though it still issues certain releases via limited edition CD-Rs).
The label is also associated with an independent recording studio, Noise Tent 10, which is currently located in the north-west Denver area. The current studio space is the tenth location used by the studio since it was founded.
